War Eagle Mill Craft Show Pictures

Hello to the most Wonderful Bloggers,

Us girls had the best time at
War Eagle Mill Craft Show.
Let me just dive into showing you
all the fun that we had.

We got pretty lucky that we did not have to wait in
line.  We drove right on in and parked.
It opened at 8:00am and we got there at 7:45am.
There were plenty of people who were already there,
but parking was a breeze.  We sat in our car
for about 15 mins waiting for it to open
because it was soooooo cold that morning.
As we got out and made our way to the
entrance, I looked around and saw this

We parked in this parking lot,
which is the first one you come to.
It was already half full and you couldn't
see the end of the line of cars waiting to get in.
We got there at the right time because we
parked pretty close up.

Once you enter in, there were 4 large tents you
could go through.  There were also
a lot of food vendors in this area too.
At first, I thought, this is it?
Oh no..  This is not it.
After you go through all the pretty gems here,
you then have to cross a large bridge to get
to the rest of the fair.
This bridge is the only way you can get across to
the other side. In this picture you can see only
a couple of people crossing. But this was early
in the morning. By 10:00 this bridge is so full that
they have crossing guards and Police on duty
directing people across the bridge like cars.
Once you enter the other side, You are welcomed with
this beautiful building that is called
War Eagle Mill.
This is were you can buy the bread mixes, as well
as jams, jellies, and kitchen items.

This is a view of the Mill as you cross the bridge.

Several tents lined with different talented crafters.

You had building to go through too....
More Food vendors
Shoppers

And more shoppers (and my daughter)

There were so many things to see and choose from.
It took us about 5 hours to go through
everything and of course we had to
eat some of the great food that you could
smell in the air for miles away.

I wanted to take close-up pictures of
some of the craft booths but alot of them
had signs that asked you not to take pictures.
I also took my point and shoot camera
and not my SLR, so the pictures didn't
come out as I hope for.
But I hope you enjoyed seeing and reading
about our trip.

If you ever get a chance, you have to go.
The Fair is every year, and it always starts
the 2nd Thursday in October and runs
from Thursday to Sunday.

Well, that is it for now,

Until Next Time,

Garage Sale Finds

I love to go to Garage Sales.
It is one of my favorite things to
do. There is nothing like getting up
early Saturday morning, Going by McDonalds
and getting a large Sweet Tea
and hitting every Garage Sale I can find.

I found these pretty little finds at one place.
My Kitchen was calling out for them.
I love the big Sanfords Inks Box

I love these white platers and have many
different sizes, so when I saw this one
for only 2.00, I had to have it.
I also love the little glassware set.
I collect these too and now have a new
set to my collection.
The wooden spool I had to have to
decorate with in my sewing room.
I love this Lipton Tea Tin Can.

Don't you just want to steal that from me????

Now look at this beautifuuuuuuuuuuuuul thing.
This Juicer still works.
It just needs some cleaning up
and then it will look great in my Kitchen.
I do however have a decision to make.
Should I leave it the way it is, Chip?
Or should I refurnish it?

Tell me what you think?

Well that is it for now,
Have a great night

On our way to War Eagle Mill

Finally, It's Here!!!!

War Eagle Mill Art and Craft Show

Us girls are heading out tomorrow
at 4 in the morning to shop, shop, shop.

This place is really neat.
It is the largest craft show in Arkansas
that is held once in the Fall and in the Spring.

For the rest of the year, the attraction is their
Mill that is open all year round.
They sale Organic Flour, Salsas and Sauces,
Jams, Syrups, Kitchenware, Cookbooks
and so much more.
Plus you can take a walk on one of
their Nature Trails, or Eat in their Restaurant.
But the big attraction is the
Craft Fair they put on.

I have the car packed, gas and tires checked.
I can't wait to get there and
I will have pictures to show when I return.

Hope everyone has a great week-end...

Until then,

Photography Class 2

Hello again,

I've had my first class in photography 2.
It went pretty well, I think....
I kinda had a hard time keeping up
with this one. We're learning how to
meter in on a gray card and the
palm of the person's hand
as we take portrait pictures.

Well you know, it couldn't be the user
not being able to do it, so it had to be
the camera.... Seriously though, I was
having a hard time understanding why my
camera was blurry and not wanting to take
a picture even while I was trying to meter first.
After having it explained to me AGAIN,
I guess I listen this time.  It doesn't matter
if the camera will not focus or take a
picture, you just want the camera to meter
in on the palm of the hand.
The way you meter is to push the
button half way as if you are
going to take a picture.
We were then shown how to take a
portrait of someone by the window
using the natural light and no flash.

Our home work assignment is to take
pictures inside by the window and
outside using natural light.

Here are the pictures I took
2 outside and 2 more inside.

The wind was blowing pretty hard
when we were doing outside photo's.
Inside we had to use a window
with natural light coming in.
You can tell on the 3rd picture
how the shadow was on one side
of her face. That is what we are going
for. The last one, we used a silver
reflector (as told to) and the picture
came out completely different.

I haven't done any corrections to
the photo's as I will be turning them
in for class. I then would like to crop
a couple of them.
Anyway, class is tonight and I am ready.
We will see if I did it right.

So I will post and let you know.
Until then,

Hi there,

and showed in class on the last day

Now, let me tell you, I did not meter in the middle

So I think this picture could of turned out
much better than it did.

This picture was outside and it was pitch dark with
the only thing glowing was the sign.
I left the White Balance to Auto because
honestly, I wasn't sure about the WB.

BRONZE SCULPTURE
Aperture mode, ISO 100, f5.0, Speed 1/200
Sunlight
When I took this picture I couldn't help but keep
getting all the phone and electric lines in the back.
There was also construction going on so there
was large equipment in the background as well.
I didn't want that in my picture, so I played
around with the camera to get this look.
Everyone in class loved the way I was
able to get a white background. This
one will be going into my portfolio so I can
remember how I did it.

 COLOR PURPLE
Manual mode, ISO 100, f22, Speed 1/ 125
Sunlight
I used scrapbook paper to get my purple.
I like how the grain was pulled
from the paper.

MACHINE
Shutter Priority, ISO 100, f5.6, Speed 1/200

I just don't like this picture.  I wanted to get closer
to take the picture but those "Do Not Enter"
Signs means something.

 WATER FALL

I love how the water looks so soft.

YARD ORNAMENT

Your wanting a sopaipillas about right now aren't you?
(I just had Mexican to eat and I ate one to many of these)

There you have it.
I really enjoyed finding the objects that were
listed and taking pictures of them.

If you have any questions just leave me
a comment and I will get the answer to you.

Talk to you soon,

Last day in Photo class 1

Hello all,
I know it's been a little while since I
blogged but I am back now. You know how
life can get in the way sometimes??

Anyway, the last class in Photography 1
was really great.  Everyone had to get
up in front of the class and tell about
the 15 pictures they had taken.
There was a list of 20 objects
 to chose from.

Here are the pictures I took and
presented in front of the class.

Let me start with the top row
going side to side.
Tall building, Water fall, Something sticky.
Animal, Someone in motion, Buffalo Statue.
Neon sign, Machine, Bronze statue.
Sculpture, Train, Color purple.
Yard ornament, Flag, Time piece.

Let me explain the Color Purple.
It is suppose to be the hardest color
to photograph.  I didn't know that.
I am glad mine came out okay,
because in class, there were a lot of others
that could not get this picture right.

With out this post being extremely long,
I am going to post each picture seperate
and list what mode I was in and
what features I used.
I figured that would be easier.

So for the last lesson we went
 over portraits. She just went
over some information about it.
In Photography 2 is when we will
get into more dept about the topic.

Well there you have it,
my Photography Class 1 is done.
I start next week with Photography 2.
I have to say this has been good for
me and my sister. We have already learned
so much and have a lot more to learn.

Until next time,
