Guess What I did last night???
I started my class in photography.
My sister and I are crazy picture takers
and wanted to learn more.
So one night a week
we will be taking a series of classes
starting with...
Photography Level 1
Photography Level 2
Photography Level 3
Then we will add classes like
Macro, Studio lighting, Wedding photography,
Posing for portraits, Photography on the edge,
Photography after dark, Art of Seeing.
Okay, somebody stop me.....
The list just goes on and on.
We are both so excited that we
were smiling ear to ear when the
teacher gave us homework.......
Yes, HOMEWORK!
We have to take 6 pictures outside
in the sun using the Manual mode.
ISO to the lowest #100 or #200
Setting shutter speed to 1/125
White Balance to daylight and
Keeping the sun to my back while
pointing at the subject.
Then dial the Aperture control until the
meter is centered.
Once I have the pictures taken
and they are seen and graded, I will
post the results and the pictures.
For now, I want to show you
the first pictures taken while we
were in class last night.
We were learning about
White Balance, Aperture Control
and the Meter.

It started to get dark as we took pictures so
some of the pictures I took were a little
dark. I don't want to edit any of them
because I want to show the progress I
make as I learn more from the class.
I hope that you follow along with me
and please feel free to comment
on my progress. But please, don't be so mean
that you make a grown woman cry.
Until next time,

13 I love comments, so go ahead.:
How fun for you! I am just getting to the point where I am realizing how much I don't know about photography. Someday I will get to take a class, too, but in the mean time, it will be fun to see your progress.
I know what you mean about realizing how much you don't know about photography. That's why I decided to take classes. Well that and to drive my kids crazy taking pictures of them all the time. Thanks for your comment...
Hi, thanks for visiting. I would love to take a photography class. I am going to come back for tips. As far as your blog identity goes it will come. I'm finding that it is a process. I love the picture with the sunset.
Awesome! That sounds like a great idea, and great time w/your sister. Photography is like painting- you begin to see amazing beauty in the simplest of places.
ps- FF from BF- have a great weekend!
Sounds like an awesome series of classes. I keep telling my husband he needs to do something like that (I have no "eye" for photography). Those pictures are pretty cool. I can't wait to see you progress.
Stopping by from BF
Sounds like heaven to me! I hope you keep posting updates so we can see what you're up to in class (and so I can live vicariously through you!!) Off to find out how to make my very own dog collar :) The puppy we are going to pick up from the shelter will be very appreciative.
Wow..you are one busy Momma. I really need to take photography classes too. It's definitely always much more fun when you get to include your sister. I love doing things with mine. You have a lot of cute ideas on your blog. I'm following you from Blogfrog. Nice to meet you.
