A New Craft Room

So right when I think I am at a place to get
back to crafting, life throws me a BiG curve.
Don't get me wrong, it's a great curve.

See, my Stepson has moved in with us from Florida.
He has been living with us for about a month now
and so things around here has been, well, a little crazy.

My craft room in now his room.
So we have been packing and moving
all my craft stuff into the garage.

Yep that's right, it's all in boxes.

But wait, this story gets even better.

Since we have a 3 bedroom house and all the
rooms are being occupied, I had to find a way
to be able to craft.
(a girl has to have her own space to craft!!)

So this is what we did....
We had all the utility company's come out
and mark the yard for this...

That's right, a NEW building for me...
I am so happy!!!
This building is 12x24 and is bigger than the
room I had inside the house.

I was so happy when the guys showed up
and started building this thing.

Last week-end my wonderful husband and one of
our friends, James came over and started working on the
inside of it.  The insulation and walls went up
really quick.  They even ran all the electric so
I now have lights.

This week-end my brother-n-law will be here to
help with putting up the rest of the ceiling.
I have the laminate flooring picked out and that
should be done this week-end as well.

I even call the the cable company and my
cable and internet has been installed.

So with fingers crossed, I should be moving in
all of next week.

Once I'm in I will have pictures to show off
of my new space.  AND, I can't wait!!!!

Paris Lamp

I bought this lamp for my daughter
for Christmas and my thought of
it was uuuuGuLy......

But then it hit me, I can make it PreTTy!!!

This is a picture of what it use to look like.

Okay, maybe it's not that bad but
I just had a different look in mind.

My daughter loves the Paris look.
So I painted the base of the lamp
black and did a transfer of different
Paris pictures and writings.
The graphics I use came from

and

If you have not checked out these site
you need to. They both have an amazing
collection of graphic's. Beware though
you will be there for hours....

So, What do you think?
Do you like it?

I really think Kori will love it.

I just hope she is to busy getting
ready for Christmas and not
hanging out in blog land
reading my blog today.

Oh by the way, I am going to be a Grandma.
Sorry, I forgot to mention that before.

We had the Ultra Sound done yesterday
and found out that she is having a GIRL!!!!
I am so happy....
Little Jayden is due May 28th.

After Christmas, I will be sewing lots
of PINK stuff....  Yea!!!
I know, BOYs are great too, but
I just really would love to see a little
girl now and then a boy next.

Until Next Time,

A Christmas Wreath

 Christmas Count Down is now,
4 more days !!!

This week has very busy but
I am done with my Christmas Shopping.
YEA!!!!
I did however take some time to
make that Christmas Wreath
I was telling you about for my mantel.

I love it!

I have also been busy doing some embroidery
for a customer.  She had 4 towels that she
wanted names put on and one blanket
with the initial "M".

Don't you just love the names for a Girl?

I hope she likes them.  I thought they turned
out pretty well.

Okay, I have one more thing to show you.

Guess what I get come Dec. 29th?????

New stainless steal appliances.

So I thought I would show you a picture
(of my dirty) kitchen which has
all white appliances.
(now remember, I said I have been VeRy busy this week)

Tomorrow evening we will be picking out
and setting up an appointment for
new counter tops as well.

So guess what I will be doing to those
cabinets?????
Lets just say, LoTs of sanding
is in my near future.  I plan on
painting them white with an antique glaze.
Huge project and a little scared but
I just can't do the cookie cutter
kitchen any longer.
Tomorrow, I will be busy doing some
more embroidery.  I am doing a towel each
for my sons and I am putting their names on them.

I also have a lamp that I am redoing that I bought
at Mathis Brothers. I am doing a Paris theme
on the lamp shade and painting the lamp black.

I will be sure to show it off.

I hope all of you are ready for Christmas
because it will be here in 4 days.

Goodnight all,

Getting Creative

Hello,

Let me just jump right in to explaining....

So remember a couple of post back when
I explained about my issue as to why I have been
absent a lot lately? Well, I am sorry, but it
happened again.  I am really trying to get through
this back thing.  I have been in alot of pain the
last couple of months and trying to get a handle
on things. Which also means, I have not been
very creative nor have I been in the mood to create.
While I was finally up to sitting in my chair
at my desk the first thing I HAD to do was
some blog lovin...
I ran across a new blog and found a video
that is called
"29 Ways To Stay Creative"
It was just what I needed to get back into
my creative groove.

Take a look if you will...

29 WAYS TO STAY CREATIVE from TO-FU on Vimeo.

I found this video at http://www.madalinemeatte.com

I know it's just a simple video but
Thanks Madaline for posting it, you have
know idea what you've done for me.

And if you have time,
please give Madaline a visit,
she has the sweetest little blog.
She offers free printables like these

Be sure to also visit her store at
The Paper Clouds

Well, its time for me to get creative
and the next time I will have a fireplace mantel
show off.  I am making a new Christmas wreath
for my mantel this year.

So until next time,

Working with Polymer Clay

I have found a new fun love in my life.
Like I need to add to my crafting ventures.

Anyway, my daughter and I took off to
Hobby Lobby and bought us some
Premo Polymer Clay.
We bought all kinds of different colors
and also so fun shapes to work with.

We conditioned the clay for a bit until
it was ready and easy to work with.

Then, started playing!!

We made all kinds of buttons.

There is not much to this, as long as
you read the instructions on the back of
the package, you've got it made.
But, this being our first time, we learned some
things on the way.  Like be sure to smooth
out every line and  Even out the amount of clay
used when making a circle or square, which
is like being the base of your design.
Because, how it looks before you put it
in the oven is exactly how it will look
when it comes out of the oven.

But hey, we had fun and will be working
up some more clay things soon.

So until next time,

Melissa
